We are recruiting Ambulance Care Assistants (ACA's) to work in our Wakefield, Manchester and Morecambe stations.

Currently . . .

We provide a 24 hour professional Ambulance Service from purpose built Ambulance Stations in Morecambe, Manchester, The Midlands & Yorkshire.

Ambulance Care Assistant

Is a patient centred role which involves working as a two-person team, transferring disabled, young, elderly and vulnerable people to and from outpatient clinics, hospitals, schools and home. 

Skills & Attributes of the ACA

To have good overall physical health

To have a good standard of written and verbal communication skills

To be honest, reliable, trustworthy and compassionate

To be sympathetic and respectful and always caring towards patients

To be flexible and adaptable in accordance with the needs of the service

The ability to work as part of a team

A full, clean manual driving licence is desirable but not essential (Must be 21+ with at least 1 years driving experience to drive)

Experience in a health or social care related role would be desirable

As the ACA role involves working with both Children and Vulnerable Adults, an Enhanced DBS Disclosure will need to be completed and the cost will be met by the Company.

Terms & Conditions

Each ACA commences on a zero hour contract

Therefore, there are no normal hours – they will vary from week to week and will include evenings and weekends.

Rate of Pay - £8.00 per hour paid in arrears around the 28th of the month

Holidays – will be accrued depending on hours worked

You will be automatically enrolled into a workplace pension scheme.

Provide full uniform

Probationary Period – 3 months

The agreement is subject to two satisfactory references

Training Provided 

First Aid at Work training

Use of an Automated External Defibrillator

Moving & Handling theory and practice

Infection Control Awareness

Safeguarding of Vulnerable Adults

Administration of oxygen therapy

Use of suction equipment

Fundamentals of Patient Care

Continual Professional Development (CPD)

Practical Sessions

Support

You will be allocated a Mentor who will support you from your induction stage onwards

This mentor will be a qualified and experienced ACA, Ambulance Technician or Registered Nurse who will also hold a teaching and/or assessing qualification

You will have the opportunity to shadow other qualified, experienced members of the team to gain practical experience
